How to Select a Diesel Generator: 50 Hz vs 60 Hz, Single Phase vs Three Phase and Silent Enclosure
Choose frequency and phase for the destination grid and connected loads first; choose a silent enclosure only when the installation environment requires lower operating noise. Confirm voltage, sockets, output and final configuration before ordering.
Procurement questions answered
Should I choose a 50 Hz or 60 Hz diesel generator?
Choose the frequency used by the destination power system and the equipment you will connect. Frequency, voltage and outlet layout are market-specific configuration items and must be confirmed before production.
When is single phase or three phase the correct choice?
Single phase is normally selected for compatible single-phase loads. Three phase is selected when the connected equipment and distribution system require it. Do not select phase from generator power alone.
Do I need a silent diesel generator?
Choose an enclosed silent configuration when the project has a lower-noise operating requirement. Open-frame generators remain suitable where service access, mobility and project conditions allow.
